Spring?!?

Ok, so this blog looks like a quarterly report! Yes, I am drowning in stash and knitting! I have been knitting Socks For Soldiers and not much else!

Last week was Spring Break. What do you do for Spring Break in Idaho? you may ask--- well here are some pictures of what Dave and I did one day-- don't worry the kids can look! We went cross country skiing!

Here is the love of my life! (Notice it is snowing!! Actually a blizzard!!! March 24th!!)
There are swans in the middle of the picture- believe me they are there! Notice how deep the snow is!

Yours truly- I just keep smiling!

I hope you are having a warmer Spring Break! Keep knitting!!

LOOONG Time no see!!!

As a friend said, "What happened to your blog? your are chattier than that!!!" Yes, I am and here is a little catch up.

In July my eldest daughter, Rachel, and her family moved to Hawaii.

The beginning of July my younger daughter, Catie, announced her engagement (he emailed to ask us permission first!), and set the date for the end of September, as both of them are students in England and there would be a break for them at that time. They flew to Idaho the week before the wedding and stayed for a few day after then flew back to England--what a whirl wind!!

Only our son, Jon, was able to get home for Christmas, but we had a great time. I am looking forward to doing some traveling later in the year (Hawaii and maybe England) to visit my grandson (oh yeah, also my daughter and son-in-law!!)

I have been on semi-bed rest since the beginning of Oct for planter fascittis (sorry about the spelling!) and it is finally getting better. I was able to get a great deal of knitting done but no blogging!

For those friends who were wanting pictures - they will be coming later :o) One picture I will post now is my new angora bunny, Shafan, who came to live with us the middle of October.

Finished a project!

I finished my Elizabeth Zimmerman's Pi shawl! I belong to way too many Yahoo groups!! This one is using EZ's almanac to make different projects each month. July is the Pi shawl. I started the shawl on July 12th and finished today! Just in time! I have several projects OTN and will probably skip the August project and go on to September's.

Catching up!

I am finally catching up with a few things! Isaac is taking a nap and I decided to get computer work done! I have been busy knitting and spinning-- What else!!! Here is a picture of my Elizabeth Z's Year KAL. I started it on July 12th and I am working on the last section of lace before knitting the lace border.

Here is a picture of Isaac- he found my cat ears from last Halloween. He has also worn them when playing football with Papa!!

We went to a baseball game (Idaho Falls Chuckers-a Kansas City farm team) for my birthday. When Isaac wasn't flirting with the girls behind us or sitting on my lap, I was knitting!

I have been spinning yarn for my Knitty Kal, and will post pictures later!

Mystery Stole 3

I am Very excited to be part of the Mystery Stole 3. We receive a clue each Friday and knit up that part for the week. Today was #2. There are over 6,000 members!!! I have already completed 15 rows of todays clue (only 50 rows in this clue). Here are a few pictures of what I have done so far. I am really enjoying the lace work and adding beads and so far I have not had to frog it! (rip it, rip it!!) If this was not enough I also joined a Knitty KAL were we each chose a pattern from Knitty.com and work on it and can post questions and generally encourage each other.

We had a great 4th! Gideon (our son-in-law) was part of a float! Isaac (our grandson) was excited to see "Da" in the parade. He will spend the next three weeks with us while Dad is at Reserve training and getting their home closed in order to join our daughter Rachel in Hawaii.

June SAM3

I have finished my June socks! I used Brown Sheep's Wildfoote yarn in Tom Cat colorway and size 2 needles. I had wanted to try a toe up pattern and couldn't find a pattern so I made this up as I went- I didn't like the heel, but I have since found a toe up pattern and will try it on my next pair and see if I like the heel better. I also used a lace cable stitch from a Big Book of Knitting Stitch Patterns. I liked being able to try the socks on as I went.
